FREEWRITING EXERCISE #58

If a body is a pocket
of possibilities then
mine is full of change.

These past few weeks,
I have rediscovered
discovery. redrawn

all the lines. O Joy –
my days are a loop
that begin and end

with saying your name.
My days are polaroid
photos dangling light

from twine-vined walls.
There are too many things
I want to send to you, but

words alone cannot carry
them, and neither can the
post, as much as they try.

What are we doing but forever
trying to tug on that ribbon
to tie us both together?

At various points of the day,
I have imagined you sleeping,
blissful and content. It is like

putting my own heart to rest.
It is as though when I close
my eyes I can imagine you

here with me again. It is as
though when you sleep,
you might do the same.

Freewriting Explanation: Every day, Valen shall use 5 minutes to write completely unprompted and uninterrupted, letting the words lead the way. There is no end purpose to each piece, but rather, the pieces are allowed to develop naturally in their own way. The pieces are then uploaded without edits.
