Day 23
1. Leave your house*. Take with you a pen/pencil and paper/notebook, and a watch.
Go somewhere public. It doesn’t matter where. It could be the street/corridor outside your home, a busy road, a void deck, a park, a mall, a hawker centre, an overhead bridge, a beach, a car park, or you could be sitting in an MRT train or station, a bus stop. It could be a crowded place, or not. Just be safe. Try not to go somewhere that will get you arrested or injured.
2. Stand or sit still (again, make sure it is somewhere safe and not in the middle of traffic)
3. Turn off your phone and put it away.
Write down everything you see, hear, feel and smell for five minutes (or approximately five minutes if you don’t have a watch).
4. If anything you see/hear/smell makes you think about something else, write that down as well (WORD ASSOCIATION FTW).
5. Feel free to go beyond five minutes.
6. Turn your notes into a poem.
